Highly commended in top industry award
We’ve been ‘highly commended’ in the prestigious West Midlands Celebrating Construction Awards!
Together with Lungfish Architects we were jointly commended in the ‘Integration and Collaborative Working Award’ category during a special ceremony held last week (13 May), at the ICC in Birmingham.
We have been recognised for our collaborative working on the £2.7m Aylesford School scheme, which saw the first ever combined primary and secondary school created in Warwickshire.
Sheridan McKnight, partnership director at Ashe Construction, said: “The Aylesford School scheme was a significant, flagship scheme for Ashe Construction and it is great to have gained high recognition for our work in these prestigious awards.
“Throughout the scheme, we were committed to working in collaboration with Lungfish to deliver high quality work for the client, without disrupting the day-to-day learning of the school. As a result, hundreds of schoolchildren across Warwickshire will now be able to benefit from our work.”
Simon Reid, head of design at Lungfish Architects, said: “At Lungfish we take enormous pride in working collaboratively with our clients and partners to achieve exceptional results which meet the needs of local communities. We are delighted this has been recognised by the Celebrating Construction Awards committee.
“Our aim was to create an inspirational learning environment with extra classrooms and learning spaces to meet the demand for school places. We were thrilled to play a key role in delivering the innovative Aylesford School scheme – helping to provide a long-term solution to Warwickshire’s growing pupil population.”
The work at Aylesford School helped meet the needs of the community by providing 210 much-needed school places in Warwickshire for four to 19-year-olds and creating a state-of-the-art learning environment for the pupils and staff.
