Community Support 2019

Ashe has long understood the benefit social value activities can bring to a project and the communities we working in. As an educational specialist we were early adopters of delivering social value opportunities into schools and colleges by offering educational learning opportunities wherever we could. We appreciate the significant benefits a commitment to social value can bring to each and every project we construct and have worked to develop and progress our social value initiatives to include; working with schools to deliver curriculum objectives, work experience, apprenticeships, charity events, careers conventions, and providing support services to local charities.

Construction Ambassadors – To increase the effectiveness of our social value work within the community Ashe recently held a CITB Construction Ambassadors training day at our head office where twelve Ashe employees learnt about representing and promoting the construction industry. The day proved a huge success and the team were soon putting their new training into action having represented the company at a number of school careers days throughout the region since becoming fully fledged Construction Ambassadors. Ashe now has seventeen Construction Ambassadors available to promote the industry within the community.

Charity Partners – This year Ashe have chosen to support both local and national charities across all fundraising events. Our chosen charities are:

Stevenage Haven – Registered Charity No. 1064495 – www.stevenagehaven.org.uk

Bedford Hospitals Charity – Registered Charity No. 299250 – www.bedfordhospitalcharity.org.uk

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home – Registered Charity No. 206394 – www.battersea.org.uk

Charity Bike Ride – Yet again we will be entering a couple of teams on this year’s Extra Mile challenge. This charity has raised in excess of £1.5m for local charities in the Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire area over a period of sixteen years, providing support for those in need of help and support. We’re pleased to not only take part in the event where we have raised in excess of £20,000 in the past five years, we also incredibly proud to provide administrative and marketing support to ensure that the event remains successful. Why not join us this year for a trip full of fun and camaraderie?
