A flying start on the Pagabo framework for Ashe with secured project awards of £11.5m and more expected!

After being awarded the Pagabo medium works framework in January Ashe have wasted little time in getting projects through the door and onto site. The first scheme commenced is for Warwickshire County Council at Campion School in Leamington Spa and valued at £6.4m. The exciting scheme involves building a new maths and science block, which will include 17 additional classrooms. The plans also include expanding the school’s kitchen and canteen facilities and provision for hard play areas and additional on-site parking. The project was negotiated under a single source procurement and will utilise the NEC4 form of contract. Ashe has developed excellent relations with the team at Warwickshire County Council having previously delivered a multitude of projects over the past four years on the Scape Empa framework.

Early July saw Ashe Construction secure a Pagabo procured project with Central Bedfordshire Council which was competitively tendered against other framework contractors. The scheme valued at £5.1m is to expand Edward Peake C of E middle school in Biggleswade where Ashe will be delivering classrooms, staff and admin facilities coupled with additional outdoor play areas. The multi phased project is due to start once the school breaks up for the summer at the end of July.

Two more educational facilities are also being negotiated utilising the Pagabo framework and are likely to start in the 3rd quarter of 2019. Valued at £3.5m Ashe are delighted that the first year of the Pagabo framework is proving such a success and look forward to delivering more projects with the framework provider. Ashe business development director Andrew Morris stated ‘We have made a conscious effort over the last year to build our presence within the framework environment and have an excellent suite of framework options to suit each client’s needs. We are looking to add further to our framework portfolio and have found that the Pagabo medium works framework to be very flexible in offering clients the choice of a single source tender approach where schemes are negotiated directly, or a tender competition against other partners where required. Covering projects ranging from £1m-£10m also ensures a wide range of projects can be well catered for.’
