Ashe Water Lane team wins ‘Safety Culture Award’!
The project team at the £1.1m Water Lane Primary Academy in Harlow, Essex are the second Ashe team to win the Safety Culture Award within a year, previously won back in April 2019 by the Ashe JRL team at Staples Corner. The ‘Safety Culture Award’ is presented to the whole project team to recognise safety excellence and the introduction of new safety initiatives. It reinforces the company’s drive to maintain exemplary safety culture throughout the business.
The Water Lane project involved heavy refurbishment to the live school and therefore it was essential to ensure the school continued to function with complete safety whilst the build maintained momentum to reach its targets. The Water Lane Team consistently achieved high safety scores from our independent safety inspections and maintained excellent communications with the school throughout the project. They overcame many safety logistical problems whilst working in close proximity of the schools daily routine. The team held an assembly with the school, teaching the children to respect the construction environment and how their Health and Safety on our site was the primary concern.
The team were delighted to win this award and are determined to maintain the high standard of safety on all future projects.
