Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer visits our sites in Stevenage

Sir Keir Starmer joined the Ashe team on our two projects in Stevenage town centre in what was his first public appearance since being elected the leader of the Labour party.

Sir Keir was in attendance to see the public realm and north block refurbishment projects in the town centre which are the first two projects as part of the ‘Stevenage Even Better’ £1 billion redevelopment of the town. When speaking on the development works Sir Keir told reporters “I think this is an incredible regeneration project.”

He continued: “I’ve come to see it today and I’m impressed. This is all about the future and having a town centre that will be revived. It will be a place people will want to come to.”

Members of the Ashe team were on hand to provide a socially distant tour of our sites with both local and national press in attendance to document the visit.
