The Ashe Group is pleased to announce two new appointments as part of its move to strengthen its platform for sustainable growth and development.

Ian Robbins will become Managing Director of Ashe Construction from 1 January 2020. He succeeds Robin Blake, who will take up the position of Group Chief Executive to oversee the successful development of the Ashe Group and manage its strategic direction.

Ashe Roofing, whose turnover will exceed £6 million this year, will continue to be headed by Robbie Fone and Neil Harrison.

Ian Robbins
Ian has a long track record in construction and has spent 20 years with Ashe. As Construction Director, he has been instrumental in the company’s pursuit of quality and safety excellence and played a major role in establishing Ashe Roofing as a successful business within the group.

Before that, Ian has worked as Site Manager, Contract Manager and Head of Special Projects where he was pivotal in establishing Ashe’s successful frameworks division. More recently, he has broadened Ashe’s suite of off-site construction techniques and enhanced Ashe’s in-house design expertise.

Robin Blake, current Managing Director, comments: “Ian is a people and customer-centred individual and has a strong history of creating highly engaged teams. His achievements at Ashe have earned him the respect of his peers within and outside the organisation and I am delighted to welcome Ian as our new Managing Director.”

Robin Blake
Robin has been Managing Director at Ashe Construction since 2005. Having started his career 30 years ago as a graduate civil engineer with Tarmac Construction, Robin worked on civils projects both home and abroad before joining the family business in 1998 as a site manager. He later advanced to surveyor and ultimately MD in 2005.

In his 14 years as MD Robin has established a strong, sustainable business that has more than doubled in size to £70 million turnover with a commensurate improvement in margin. He has developed a business that is BIM compliant and capable of delivering turn-key projects of over £20 million with an impressive portfolio of frameworks, clients and award winning projects.
