I moved to Ashe from a multinational defence contractor and now as Head of Finance I’m really motivated by overseeing my team members develop, including three apprentices.

My initial role at Ashe was deputy financial controller, which involved managing the finance team under the deputy financial controller and implementing a set of efficiencies.

Once these were in place I worked on defining a set of KPIs that were relevant for our business and progressed to my current role of Head of Finance in under three years. The directors of this business show their appreciation of valued work with other opportunities.

Seeing how the business responded during Covid, and being part of the team who accelerated digitalisation of the business, is one of the achievements I’m most proud of. It was a challenging time, but adapting how we worked has really benefited us as a business since.

What I most appreciate about the business is the directors’ open communication and willingness to listen to business cases for new initiatives and investments, and the freedom you have to try doing things differently.
